Valve has rolled out the Dead Hand Collection for Counter-Strike 2—a new content drop built around community submissions and a fresh set of glove skins. The update adds 17 weapon finishes from community artists and 22 all-new gloves as rare special items, plus a new way to obtain them and a couple of map fixes.
Here’s what’s in the update and how you can get your hands on the new looks.
What’s in the Dead Hand Collection?
The Dead Hand Collection is built around two main pillars: weapon skins and gloves.
17 community finishes
Seventeen new weapon finishes from community contributors are included. They span a range of styles and rarities. One of the standouts is the AWP | Queen's Gambit—a regal skin that mixes gold and deep blue with ornate engravings and filigree, giving the rifle a high-end, collectible look that fits the “Dead Hand” theme.
22 new gloves
The collection also introduces 22 brand-new glove skins. They’re the rare special items of this update and come in a wide variety of designs: from bold red and gold patterns and racing-style looks to metallic and armored styles, floral and geometric motifs, and more. Whether you prefer something loud or low-key, the new set gives plenty of options to match your loadout.
So if you’ve been waiting for something that stands out in the highlight reel, this batch of gloves is built to add a bit of “mutually assured distraction” to your rounds.
How to Get Dead Hand Items: The Dead Hand Terminal
You don’t open these from a classic case. Dead Hand Collection items are obtained through the Dead Hand Terminal.
The Dead Hand Terminal is available as a possible weekly drop in CS2. That means playing the game and receiving your weekly drop can grant you a terminal; from there you can acquire items from the Dead Hand Collection. Keep an eye on your weekly drop to see if you’ve received one.
Map Changes in This Update
The same patch that added the Dead Hand content also shipped two map tweaks:
Dust II
- Fixed a pixel gap in a door near Outside Long, closing a small visual or clipping issue.
Alpine
- Updated to the latest version from the Community Workshop. If you follow workshop map notes, check the Alpine update notes for the full list of changes.
The Dead Hand Collection gives CS2 a fresh wave of community-driven weapon finishes and a full set of new gloves to chase.
